The VO-67 Association was formed, by a unanimous vote of the attending VO-67 squadron members, during the squadron's second reunion held at Reno Nevada on March 24, 2001. Members of this unique United States Naval squadron, formed during the Vietnam War, seek to continue to "Make a Difference" by providing an annual college scholarship grant. An annual grant of $1,000 is awarded to eligible students to assist in covering the costs of post secondary education (i.e., vocational school, community college, four year college/university or graduate/professional school). This grant is awarded as a tribute to all members of Observation Squadron Sixty-Seven both living and deceased.
A statement of purpose and an 800 word essay are required by each applicant.
Applicants wishing to join this Association must agree to the purposes of the Association.
1. To honor and maintain the memory of our VO-67 shipmates.
2. To preserve and promote VO-67 Naval history.
3. To provide an annual college "Scholarship Grant" for the benefit of Active, Associate and Life members and their families.
Persons soliciting the scholarship grant must have an active VO-67 Association sponsor to apply.
All persons can become a member of the VO-67 Association but must be 18 years of age to vote on Association business.
Information on how to apply for the VO-67 Scholarship grant is available on the Scholarship page on this web site.
